Southland Open Space & Forest Preservation Project

IEWK is kicking-off its newest project that will involve mapping, cleaning up and studying the long-neglected Temescal Creek.  This vital corridor is linked to the Cleveland National Forest by two remaining canyons (Bedford and Indian) so we hope to gain interest in preserving them as permanent open space.

The project also includes advocacy work against the 12-mile Santa Ana Mountain Tunnel and protecting the 4 reserves of the Lake Mathews/Gavilan Hills area.  We are joining forces with a grassroots group called "Preserve the Plateau" - click HERE for their informative slideshow.

Help us protect our wildlands! Stay tuned for future announcements to get actively involved!

LEAPS Hydroelectric Project Update

Great news from the CA Public Utilities LEAPS towersCommission!  The transmission-line component of the LEAPS project has been DISMISSED without prejudice!  Our National Forest is safe from a dangerous, ugly and unnecessary powerline.

FREE AND EASY WAY TO SUPPORT WATERKEEPER!
What if Inland Empire Waterkeeper earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!

GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting your favorite cause.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Inland Empire Waterkeeper as the charity you want to support. And, be sure to spread the word!
