Happy Summer! Below are some exciting updates as we at
IE Waterkeeper head into the hot, summer months!
An important
California Assembly Bill requires your support to safeguard our
waterfowl and keep our waterways clean from plastic bags.
AB 68 (Brownley) would
significantly reduce single-use plastic and paper bags from large
grocery and convenience stores - read more

Mid-County
Parkway Update
|
Riverside
County Transportation Commission's proposal to construct a freeway
from San Jacinto to Corona through preserved open space has been
drastically reduced thanks, in part, to the written and vocal
concerns of residents. Waterkeeper submitted these
comments on the project.
We
feel the County's decision to reduce the Mid-County Parkway is a
smart move to protect waterways of the Gavilan Hills/Lake Mathews
corridor. Discussions will continue between representatives of
the environmental community and County officials, so stay
tuned! Click here for The Press
Enterprise op-ed from Supervisors Buster and Ashley dated
6/20/09.

Litigation Update
|
|
Inland Empire Waterkeeper has settled with
six industrial facilities in the City of Corona, and filed three
Notices of Intent to Sue against three metal scrapyard facilities
located in Bloomington, Fontana and Ontario for violations of the
federal Clean Water Act - read more
